It’s just so crowded."

But unfortunately, some tourist destinations have become too famous for their own good.

These are the worldwide tourist attractions that they say, unfortunately, have been spoiled.

A large group of tourists stand in front of the ornate golden gates of the Palace of Versailles. They are taking photos and admiring the historic site

1.“Versailles.

However, we loved the gardens and other buildings.”

“The Trevi Fountain in Rome.

It’s so crowded.

“Jemaa el-Fnaa (Market Square), Marrakesh.

Of all the places we visited in Morocco, Jemaa el-Fnaa was the biggest disappointment.

Market square in Marrakesh, aerial view

It’s full of knock-off clothes and guys trying to get you to take pictures with cobras.

In general, Marrakesh is awesome, but the market is a letdown.”

“Takeshita Street in Harajuku, Tokyo.

Busy street in a bustling shopping district filled with many people and various store signs and s

I love Tokyo, but I won’t return to Harajuku anytime soon.”

“Oktoberfest in Munich.

“Oia, Santorini.

A large crowd is enjoying Oktoberfest inside a festively decorated beer hall, filled with people drinking, socializing, and wearing traditional Bavarian outfits

I went in October expecting a quieter season, and it was still packed!

Some tourists were super rude, too.”

“Banff National Park.

People gather at a crowded viewpoint in Santorini, Greece, atop whitewashed buildings and narrow streets, capturing the scenic sunset

As a Canadian, I feel that tourism in Banff is destroying the environment.

“The Leaning Tower of Pisa.

“Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia.

“Bondi Beach in Sydney.

“The Vatican, and specifically inside St. Peter’s Basilica.

This was pre-COVID, so my experience may be different now, but there were so many people.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa with many tourists gathered around the base, some taking photos and enjoying the clear day

“Cinque Terre, Italy in August.

We felt like sweaty sardines packed in everywhere we went.”

“Yellowstone National Park.

A group of people stands at the base of a rocky waterfall, some taking photos and others climbing nearby rocks. An adult lifts a child beside the waterfall

“The Pyramids of Giza.

I spent months looking forward to the trip and felt so disappointed.”

“Pretty much any tourist destination in Bali.

A crowded beach scene with many people sunbathing, swimming, and enjoying the day. In the background, modern buildings are visible

“The Disney parks in Orlando.

“The Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center in NYC.

It’s so packed I got just close enough to barely squeeze out.

A large group of people touring the Sistine Chapel, featuring Michelangelo's famous frescoes on the ceiling and walls

I didn’t even really see the tree.

The setting always looks so nice in movies.

And also Times Square.

A crowded beach with many people sunbathing and swimming. Numerous colorful umbrellas in a row cover beach chairs along the shoreline

It’s stressful being there, and I still don’t understand why there’s gridlock traffic.

Everyone needs to honk their horn constantly as if there is anywhere to go.

I’m just a country boy, I guess…”

“The Mona Lisa room in the Louvre is incredibly frustrating, entirely because of the other tourists.

I got as close as I could before a group of tourists almost pushed me to the floor.

In my humble opinion, there are much better paintings in the Louvre.”

19.“Dubai.

I felt like I was constantly being shuttled from one tourist trap to another.”

“Waikiki Beach in Oahu.

People walk down a busy street at a Disney theme park. A vendor holds colorful character balloons featuring Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters

It’s a horrible, crowded concrete beach surrounded by traffic and overpriced chain stores.

Go to literally any other beach in Oahu.
