‘What’s your name?’
I told her and she said, ‘That’s MY name!

They called out my name.
I stepped forward and some girls said, ‘Not YOU!’
and the same little girl I had met a few years before stepped forward.
Fast forward to junior high school.
I was a troublemaker in eighth grade.
I got called into the office and there was another girl standing there looking puzzled.
She wasn’t the one in trouble, I was.
We laughed it off.
Then, I remembered her from when I was little.
We share similar birthdays.
We are in our 60s now and friends.”
