“If you feel like youre being pacified rather than truly loved and valued, dont ignore it.”
Recently, Monica Millington, known as@monicamillingtonon TikTok, reignited the conversation bysharingher own experience.
She told her followers about the moment she knew she received a “shut up ring.”

“I realized the first few weeks of our marriage.
‘Its gonna be better when we move and live in the same place.
Its gonna be better when were married.’

We still had all the exact same problems we had before.”
Monica said it took two years for her marriage to “fall apart.”
And thats when you know I need you to tell me Im pretty.

That happened for about a week.
I need you to buy me flowers.
That probably happened once or twice.

Or, ‘I need you to go to therapy.
We talked about it but it actually never ended up happening."
“Towards the end I was just so exhausted with everything… ## It also made some people look at their own relationships differently.

“I’m 34 and dating a guy who barely shows appreciation, compliments, a real avoidant.
And a lot of single people were appreciative of the warning.
She advises people who are ready to move on from their relationship to focus on themselves first.

“Evaluating your next steps starts with understanding what you truly want and need.
Dont be afraid to set boundaries and communicate openly about your concerns.”
“Were both not perfect obviously, so we are avid over-communicators.
